Pink P!NK Rockstar Punk Rocker Rock Performer Acceptance Love

Starring: P!NK

Join award-winning musician P!NK as she embarks on her record-breaking 2019 “Beautiful Trauma” world tour and welcomes audiences to join her chosen family while trying to balance being a mom, a wife, a boss and a performer. Mixing footage from the road, behind-the-scenes interviews and personal material, director Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) gives audiences a glimpse behind the curtain of the circus that she calls life.

P!NK: All I Know So Far starts with a high energy opening that introduces you to P!NK's shows and performing style.  But after that, you get a much more quiet and reserved P!NK.  Although the documentary splices P!NK's performances and well known songs throughout it, the film is really more of an insight into her own life and how she approaches parenting while being a performing mom.  She has a lot of thoughts and observations that are applicable to working parents and those trying to raise a family.  And these thoughts are good to hear as they are surprisingly grounded for an international superstar.  She comes across as an honest, normal person despite her larger than life stage persona.  Additionally, the film also gives plenty of candid scenes with her family and with her husband; enough to give you a good sense of their interactions when off stage.

But that is not to say that this film doesn't have P!NK's trademark high energy performances.  Between the insights and intimate look into P!NK's life, the film has some great clips of her concerts.  It gives a VIP look at some of her performances and well known songs, with a nice variety of her shows and songs.  If you are a P!NK fan, this will be exactly what you want to see.  And if you aren't a P!NK fan, then this will likely turn you into one.  I will admit I hadn't thought about her music recently but have been listening to her songs consistently since seeing the documentary.  We also get a look at some of the performers that have been with her for a long time and the love that they share for each other.  It could be just for the camera but you do get the sense that this is really a family that has been together for a long time.  And you also get a chance to see some of P!NK's fans and how they connect with the performer.  There is an especially touching scene where she reads a wonderful fan letter about how P!NK has affected her life, and you can see the genuine emotion on the performer's face as she reads this.

If there is a complaint about this documentary, it is that it doesn't give enough insight into P!NK growing up.  She intersperses some stories from her childhood, but I wanted to know more about where she came from and how she became her on stage persona.  I feel like you get such an intimate look at who she is now and I just wanted to see more about Alecia.  But this is a minor complaint as the film already has a good run time.

P!NK: All I Know So Far is an insightful and intimate look at this worldwide performer's life and family that will connect you to and make you a fan of this high energy performer.
