What to Watch This Weekend: Sweet River, Mortal Kombat, Unhinged, 2067, Centigrade, Stowaway, Nobody, Life in Color

For A Mix of True Crime and Horror: Sweet River (Digital)
Sweet River walks the line between true crime and horror, with a sinister setting and tone, tense music, and characters that have plenty of secrets that they don't want dug up.  For more information, check out the review!

For A Bloody Good Video Game Adaptation: Mortal Kombat (Theaters and HBO Max)
Mortal Kombat is a bloody good video game adaptation, with a diverse cast of MK fighters, exciting fights, and enough references and callouts to give fans a flawless victory.  For more information, check out the review!

For A Good Guy Gone Bad: Unhinged (Amazon Prime)
Unhinged did not get great reviews with critics but it has a strong audience score and praise for Russell Crowe's compulsively watchable villain.

For the Sci-Fi Fan: 2067 (Hulu)
2067 is a breath of fresh air, with a new take on a post-apocalyptic scenario, strong acting from Kodi Smit-McPhee, and a well-paced story that concludes with a satisfying ending.  For more information, check out our review!

For A Chilling Horror Film: Centigrade (Hulu)
Centigrade is a claustrophobic survival thriller with a palatable sense of tension and a story that will chill you to the bone.   For more information, check out the review!

For An All-Star Cast Space Thriller: Stowaway (Netflix)
Stowaway's all-star cast, tense space situation, and sci-fi setup make for an exciting expedition, just one that could use a post-mission debriefing.  For more information, check out the review!  And after you watch it, check out my video review with my dramatic reading of an alternate ending!

For An Action-Filled John Wick-like: Nobody (Digital and Red Box On Demand)
Nobody is a middle class, family man John Wick, with high energy and varied action, a mysterious story, and an epic, final fightsravaganza.  For more information, check out the review!

For Those Missing Travel: Life in Color (Netflix)
It's David Attenborough doing a nature documentary.  You know you want to watch it, especially if you have been cooped up this last year and missing travel.  See amazing sights with excellent British narration!
